Pendec was established in May 1978 to supply electrical components to its parent company. E A Foulds Limited install, modernise, service and repair passenger and goods lifts and Pendec was initially set up to supply them with Cutler Hammer motor control gear.
During the 1980s, Pendec expanded by building up its own customer base. To support this growth in business, Pendec increased its product range to include factory control and automation products from quality names such as Merlin Gerin, Omron, Salzer UK and Socomec. Pendec also diversified into the safety solutions market by supplying products from established brands including Berstein and Pilz UK
The 1990s saw further expansion and growth, with Pendec increasing its factory control and automation product lines to include Main Systems, Schmersal, B J Enclosures, Eldon Electric and Releco.
Since its inception, Pendec has continually expanded into the successful business it is today, serving over 120 customers from its Head Office in Colne, Lancashire. It is one of the leading independent suppliers of factory control, automation and safety solutions in the North West, supplying product ranges from over 30 well known suppliers including ABB, Eldon, Merlin Gerin, Bernstein, Schmersal, Socomec, TELE Control and Pilz UK.
